Cleaning up my beauty routine is a personal choice. For my health, the earth and the animals. I’m not perfect. I am not going to be able to change everything in my beauty stash all at once! My bank account could not with stand that kind of a purchase (or my husband!).
However, I do believe that as time goes on and my products run out, I will purchase natural, organic, vegan and/or cruelty-free replacements. Research is key in this search to become “Green in my beauty”. There are a lot of Natural companies that I am being exposed to or finding in my travels.
This is a continuation of my FitGlow Beauty review (click here).
I’m pretty picky when it comes to mascara (click here to read my review on my favourite drugstore mascara). I have light, short, barely there lashes. So a mascara that will lengthen, hold a curl and give my lashes volume, is a must.
I picked up Pacifica Natural Minerals Mascara in SuperNova (black) on my trip to ShopEco. All the ladies their raved about this mascara and the reviews online/YouTube were great as well.
Although with my key recommendations, the mascara has to come off easy, not flake or clump and not make my eyes itchy and/or water.
The last points are what prompted me to switch to natural, organic and cruelty-free makeup and beauty products.
Pacifica is 100% Vegan and Cruelty-Free. The formula is infused with coconut oil and vitamin B. They claim it “lengthens, strengthens and adds volume”.
I tried this mascara out the same week that I was trying out the FitGlow Foundation out.
This mascara is a dream to work with. Smooth, rich black, no clumps. Due to the coconut oil, I did find that it took a while to dry down. So I did experience some transfer onto my lids if I was in a hurry. Nothing that a Q-tip couldn’t quickly fix!
I did have transferring on my bottom lashes. This happens with almost every mascara I use. While I was at ShopEco I had mentioned this issue with one of the ladies there, and she had mentioned it happening to her as well.
The mascara over all did not flake on me. It did wear really well throughout my work day.
I did see visible length and volume with this mascara. And dare I say some growth??? It’s too soon to tell!
It is so easy to remove as well. I don’t have “eye gunk” floating in my eyes hours after I remove, like I do with normal mascara. (Am I the only one that gets eye gunk in my eyes from mascara? Let me know in the comments below!)
It is a pricier mascara than I am use to buying. However, it is natural, organic, vegan and cruelty-free. The price is justified. And in all honesty, it is the same price as high-end mascara’s found at Sephora.
So, does this check off all my boxes and will I repurchase once done?
It did extremely well! I will for sure repurchase. I do have a few other mascaras from other natural companies that I have been researching.
Have you tried any natural, organic mascaras? Are there any that I need to try? Let’s discuss in the comments!
