Fun in the Sun with Live Clean

I have fair skin. The kind of skin that burns just thinking of the sun! We all know that the sun is both great for us and bad at the same time. The UVA (ageing) & UVB (burns) stay constant throughout the year.  You need to protect your skin, which is the largest organ on your body from these rays all year round.

When I found out that my new favourite Canadian brand: Live Clean, was coming out with their own sunscreens, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them.  As luck would have it, I was contacted and offered the opportunity to give the sunscreen a try!

Live Clean Sunscreen - Fun in the Sun
Live Clean Baby 45 SPF Mineral Sunscreen Lotion

The Live Clean Mineral Sunscreens come in two formulas:

  • Live Clean Baby Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 45
  • Live Clean Sport Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 45

I got to the party a little late, but I was still able to score the Baby Sunscreen to test drive! Which my sensitive skin was fine with 🙂

Both of these sunscreens are formulated with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which form a physical barrier against the sun’s rays. They contain ingredients like aloe, shea butter, green tea extract, as well as crambe abyssinica seed oil (which is similar to jojoba oil which is deeply hydrating for the skin and replaces silicons).

Both Live Clean formulas are: moisturizing, they have broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection (which is super important in any sunscreen), an SPF 45, 98% naturally derived, water resistant up to 80 minutes, hypoallergenic, cruelty-free and Eco-friendly.

What the formulas DO NOT have is just, if not more important: Paraben free, Phthalate free, Dye free, SLS free, DEA free, Silicone freeNo synthetics/ chemicals, No nano-particles, Petroleum free, Gluten free, Fragrance free.

I took it for a test drive the weekend I received the products!  I could not contain myself any longer 🙂 As a jogger, I was able to put this product to the test.  Heat, sweat, bugs, sun, wind. I encounter it all in my jog!  Although, I was not using the “Sports” sunscreen, the Baby Sunscreen held up amazingly well.

First Impressions

  • The formula is light
  • Creamy
  • Not thick and heavy
  • Goes on white but soaks into skin nicely and quickly. My favourite feature. I hate the white that some sunscreens leave.
  • Does not leave skin too shiny or the appearance of sunscreen
  • No Fragrance
  • Washes off fairly easy (I always use Dr. Bronner’s Soap to take off my sunscreens. It cuts through the formula and removes it nicely without having to use chemicals or something harsh on my skin)

Finial Verdict

I LOVE it! I have found a sunscreen that is not only Natural and Green, but is Canadian as well!

Along with sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses are always a great idea!  Also, remember that sunscreen expires and the recommended amount is one ounce or a shot glass of sunscreen to fully cover all exposed areas of your body.

Live Clean products are available at a wide range of Canadian stores, such as Walmart and Shoppers Drug Marts (call your local stores as all stores carry different products).

If you are a frequent reader, than you already know why I love this brand 🙂 If you are new, welcome! Thanks for stopping by! You can caught up and read my recent review of Live Clean here.

    1. Thanks Maxtheunicorn! It’s hard to do the “trial and error” thing, but when you find the “one” it is so worth it! Tal xo
